Nichole Montinola

Hey all!

My name is Nichole and I’m a Junior at SPU majoring in Applied Human Biology. I plan to get my Masters in Physician Assistance after SPU to become a Surgical PA, hopefully in the Trauma/Emergency Department! I love the outdoors and doing things that involve majestic sceneries and a hint of adrenaline. These activities would involve hiking, rollercoaster riding, and exploring! I’ve also started rock climbing and bowling but I’ve always been into sports and hip-hop dance.

Aside from hobbies, my passion is to learn about cultural disparities in healthcare and society and seeing how I can better serve communities using the abilities that God has given me. Being able to go to the DR is such a great opportunity and WILL be an amazing experience. I know this trip will definitely be life changing. It’s only March, but I’m already super excited for us! 😀

Natalie Longley

Hello everyone, I’m a sophomore majoring in Applied Human Biology with a Psychology minor here at SPU.  I was born in Portland, OR but live in Camas, WA and have always dreamed of living somewhere warm.  My family and I have always done a lot of traveling throughout the U.S. but I’ve done very little international travel, so I’m extremely excited for this amazing opportunity to go to the Dominican Republic this summer!  Healthcare is something that I’m very passionate about and looking forward to getting some more hands on experience in this summer.  My goal is to go to graduate school to get my Doctorate of Physical Therapy after graduating SPU so that I can help people with physical rehabilitation.

Lily Gaffney

Hey everyone! My name is Lily Gaffney and I am a freshman here at Seattle Pacific University and I am loving every bit of it so far. I am studying to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I am from Snohomish, Washington but have always been a city girl so I enjoy living in this beautiful, Seattle. I enjoy running and working out, as I was a gymnast my whole life which has lead me to be a gymnastics coach here at SPU.  Since I was little, I have had the privilege to travel with my family and found such a passion in it. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to go serve in the Dominican Republic with an awesome team of girls!

Andrea Sonk

Hello!

I am currently a junior here at SPU. I am majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Psychology. After I graduate from SPU, I plan on attending graduate school for occupational therapy. I am from Happy Valley, Oregon, and like Millie, I am in love with the Pacific Northwest, especially Seattle. I enjoy hiking, running in the rain, and simply being outdoors or spending time with friends and family. I also am in love with coffee. I am excited to go to the DR this summer with this team to see how God will put my passions for serving and for medicine to use!Image

Millie Sturtevant

I am currently a sophomore and a physiology major here at SPU. I am from Portland, Oregon and absolutely love living in the Pacific Northwest! There are so many great outdoor activities to do here like hiking, camping and skiing. I also love to read, run, listen to music, and spend time with family, friends, and my dog, Mylee. I am interested in going into the health field, so the opportunity to go the the Dominican Republic and work on malaria control is especially exciting!
